Watching a pet overcome a huge hurdle is enough to make anyone a little misty-eyed. Asia, the brave chocolate Labrador from @asia.the.choccy, shows in this video that having three legs doesn’t mean she needs a constant lift, even if she enjoys a bit of a cheering section first. And her 116K followers on Instagram are witnessing her latest victory — climbing up a flight of stairs. In the reel, we see her dad head to the stairs to check on her. He thought perhaps she needed help, but this tripod Labrador was actually just waiting for her cue to shine in the video.

Tripod Labrador is skilled at climbing stairs

The clip starts with Asia’s dad looking down from the top of the landing, where he sees the Labrador just standing there at the bottom. He asks her if she needs some help getting upstairs, but as soon as the words are out, she starts moving. The dog isn’t struggling, either. She is taking it one step at a time with her tail wagging furiously. “Oh, have you got it?” dad asks, sounding totally surprised. It really looks like she was just waiting for him to watch so she could show off.

Asia makes her way through the last few steps with so much pride in her eyes. Dad keeps calling her a “clever girl” as she reaches the top. “I think we accidentally trained her to walk upstairs when we are cheering her on!” the owner shared in the caption.

It makes sense because she’s been through months of positive reinforcement. She just wanted her favorite person to see how strong she’s become. And honestly, her strength is incredible. She’s kicked cancer’s butt and is currently living her best life on three legs in the UK.

The video pulled in over 3K likes in just a few hours. Asia’s cheerleaders are all over the comments section. One person mentioned how beautiful it was to see her so proud of herself. Another fan called her a brave girl and said nothing can get in her way. After the climb, the clip shows her tucked into her bed, where her dad gives her some well-deserved scritches. She even sweetly puts a paw over his arm to show some love back.
